The NLCB PanoGrama made history as the first ever online steelpan competition in 2020. It is an exciting and engaging international steelpan competition that showcases talented up and coming musicians, to provide wholesome and family-oriented world-class entertainment, while also contributing to the holistic personal, musical and professional development of these musicians.
Born during COVID-19 lockdowns and created by Tobagonian Nevin Roach, the event has grown tremendously in just one year, now fielding the likes of Professor Liam Teague on its adjudication panel and streaming to 3 social media platforms with TV-quality delivery.
At the end of the 2020 edition, a sizeable donation was made to the Social Prosperity Fund of Pan Trinbago. In an effort to continue along that vein, the NLCB PanoGrama is accepting donations for:
Social Prosperity Fund - Pan Trinbago
Pan Trinbago Social Prosperity Fund is established to provide tangible support and empowerment programmes to vulnerable families, supporters, players and workers of steel pan community that are experiencing hardship. It is a unique, collaborative concept to improve the lives of the steelband fraternity. This huge community includes over three hundred bands, four thousand players and their families, tuners, arrangers, manufacturers and administrators. It is no secret that COVID 19 pandemic has dimmed the light on live entertainment, and has halted pan yard activities and performances thus decreasing substantially our revenue streams. Bands depend on public gatherings for their survival and due to the ever changing circumstances of what's going on in the world around us the livelihood of their members are at risk.
St. Vincent Volcano Relief Efforts
It is no secret that the explosive eruptions of the La Soufriere volcano in St. Vincent have changed the lives of many for the foreseeable future. Parts of the Caribbean island were rendered unrecognisable, the agriculture sector has been wiped out for the most part, and in excess of 20,000 persons have been displaced from their homes. Working with the St. Vincent Steelpan Association, PanoGrama Entertainment will contribute to the relief efforts.
